PUNK D.O.A: Idols of Food Rock
As Punk lay in a coma, kept alive only by life-support machinery (or so we thought... later, when they tried to pull the plug it kept right on breathing), John Holmstrom, Patricia Ragan and I battled the rats at the storefront where we had moved, trying to come up with comic strip ideas that would keep us solvent. Idols of Food Rock was one such strip. Nobody bought it, but at least we were able to use this installment in D.O.A. Note that Jeff Weiss, who is featured in the Eno in Mad City comic, helped out on this one too. By the way, we're still trying to work up Idols of Food Rock for syndication, so if you happen to work for King Features, drop me a line, eh?
