I had access to Screw's typesetter and photostat machine now, which changed the approach to headline layout (not necessarily for the better). I would like to note that the first article here, by Chris Salewicz, is the best rundown of how and where (NYC, don't ya know) punk rock of the 70s got its start.

(Also, by the way, the Clash design was used for a new laundry detergent that the band endorsed in the early 80s.)
