PUNK #15: The Monster (Part 1)
Although the part of The Monster had been cast the summer before I came to work for Punk, it was my job to take his raw talent and turn him into an actor. We all know the stories of monsters who looked great on their posters but failed to deliver when they faced those rolling cameras and the call for "action." But, under my tutelage, The Monster not only held his own with an all-star cast, but more often than not stole the scene. The following series is a tribute to a fine actor, and, you might be surprised to know, a really gentle, loving guy. Below is his debut scene, playing opposite no less than Andy Warhol. I think it would be fair to say that, far from being intimidated by one of the 20th centruy's great artists, he ate him alive.
